A Note About Lunch

Your child will need to bring his/her lunch every day, in a lunch box with his/her name written or tagged on the outside. Eating lunch in a group setting allows children the opportunity to learn lots of social and personal skills.

A Note about Potty Training

Praise Preschool encourages children to be potty trained before starting school. If your child is not yet fully potty trained, but on their way, “Pull-ups” can be worn if needed. We ask parents to send an extra change of clothes to preschool in a backpack if you think your child may need them.

A Note About Jesus

This is a Christian preschool and we are excited to help your child learn all about the love that Jesus has for each and every person including every little preschooler.

Christine Riggan

Preschool Director

Hello, my name is Christine Riggan. This year will be my 20th year working at Praise Preschool! I started out as a mom who enrolled my three- year-old daughter. The first year I helped out as needed. The next year, Mrs. Wolfe hired me on as an assistant, and I have been here ever since! I have been the full-time classroom teacher for the last eighteen years after Mrs. Wolfe retired. I love teaching and I love this program! I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hope International University in Fullerton, California in Children’s Ministry. My degree focus included early childhood education and elementary education. I hold a certificate in Infant/Toddler education and an associate's degree in Bible. I have been married to my wonderful husband Rob for 34 years and we have two amazing children, ages 28 and 24. Both of my children graduated from the Tacoma Public School’s Science and Math Institute (SAMI). My Son has an AA from Tacoma Community College and is now working for Fred Meyer. My daughter graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology in 2024. She is now a graduate student at Washington State University. Both my son and daughter are Eagle Scouts. My daughter is also a Girl Scout Gold Award earner. I attend church at Zion’s River where my husband is an Associate Pastor and I am an Elder. We have been at Zion’s River for over 25 years. When I am not at preschool, I enjoy all kinds of crafting, spending time with our dog Maggie, reading, working with my husband at church, and listening to worship music.
